I read more books than usual this year, and was reflecting on the list. I noticed that sometimes I have a particularly strong recollection of how I came across the book in the first place.
Good Inside, a book about parenting recommended by Scott Belsky in a technology interview.
The Invisible Hook, a book about pirates, recommended on a YouTube video which I discovered via a Flashbots Github page.
The Art Spirit, a book about painting from a Jack Dorsey talk.
Tokyo Express, picked up in a rush for a train ride home from Newcastle station after a weekend of cycling.
The association is often strongest if the discovery was incongruous, or if the book found me at an opportune time. I am looking forward to more memorable book discovery in 2025.
